Abstract: Atomic force spectroscopy is a versatile tool for quantitative characterization of chemical and
biological interactions. In this paper the atomic force microscopy (AFM) was used to directly measure the adhesion force between the bovine serum albumin (BSA) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) surfaces. For this fact the AFM tips having typical spring constant k=1,75 N/m were coated with polystyrene plasma polymers obtained in a dielectric barrier discharge (DBD). The BSA immobilized on AFM tips was identified by the fluorescence microscopy and X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy. |
