| Abstract: Degradation of polymers has proved to be very important in practice and also in medical applications. The
purpose of this study was to compare two different polymers from the degradation point of view. There were analyzed
the effect of different degradation factors such as thermal, ultraviolet radiation and plasma treatment on two polymers,
respectively cellophane and polypropylene. Our results lead to the conclusion that plasma treatment of polymeric
surfaces is the most promising agent to initiate the degradation process. |
