Abstract: It is well known that for a singledomain
particle, the StonerWohlfarth
theory provides a analytic method based on
the solution of a polynomial equation to establish the critical points. We investigate in this paper the possibility to extend
the method for a synthetic antiferromagnetic (SAF) composed from two identical coupled magnetic free layers, using the
StonerWohlfarth
model for each layer. Instead of using the two angular coordinates for the moments of the two
interacting single domains one uses the system: x = (q 1 +q2 ) 2;h = (q 2 - q 1 ) 2 . The switching properties of SAF are the
key of toggle MRAM technology. For fixed initial conditions, there are more than one equilibrium state. Using the
developed method we can determine the minimum energetic points as well as the saddle points that are necessary
conditions to estimate the energy barrier. |
