Abstract: We report on experimental results concerning the bistable behavior of plasma in DP-machine. In some conditions a chaotic state of plasma in form of uncorrelated low-amplitude oscillations can appears. By using an external capacitor we can replace this chaotic state with an oscillatory one, the frequency of which can be easily controlled. The charging and discharging processes of the capacitor trigger the assemblage and disruption process of a complex space charge configuration in front of a positively electrode immersed in plasma. The results also prove the possibility to generate oscillations in the S-type negative differential resistance region of static current-voltage characteristic. |
