Abstract: An experimental set-up for investigation of electric properties of materials with biological or medical applications was designed and made. The measurement cell allow investigation of specimens prepared in various forms like films, membranes, foils or pressed powder pellets. The apparatus can provide records of thermally stimulated currents released by the above mentioned materials during a large variety of polarization or depolarization processes. The structural changes of the investigated materials can be observed also by recording the temperature dependeces of the complex permittivity in a frequency range from 1.0 mHz to 100kHz. These two investigation methods allow one to correlate the structural transformations with the electrical properties important for membrane functionality. |
