Abstract: The aim of this paper is to prove the similarities between self-organized structures in plasma and Turing structures obtained in chemistry and during the morphogenesis process. The self-assembling of patterns in dc discharges has been attributed to a Turing – type scenario, analogous to that which may occur in chemical systems. Based on a mesoscopic approach and using the activator – substrate depleted model we explain the formation of multiple balls of fire and their mutual disposition on the anode as a result of the splitting of activator’s concentration peak and long-range inhibition. |
