| Abstract: It is known that the United Nations (UN) General Assembly has adopted by consensus, in December 2002,
a resolution establishing a UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development from 2005 to 2015. The
Decade of Education for Sustainable Development affirms the need to integrate sustainable development
into education systems at all levels in order for education to be a key agent for change. In order to understand the essence of this term – sustainable development/future – it is necessary to take into consideration first, the education. The education is the basis for sustainable human society and it is realized, generally, into schools and into the universities as a high system of education. The Decade aims to promote education as the basis for sustainable human society and strengthen international cooperation toward the development of innovative policies, programs and practices of education for sustainable development .
