| Abstract: The paper presents the relaxation in spin transition solids and introduces the study of size effects in such systems,
satisfactorily described by an Ising model. The study of short and long range interactions revealed their influence upon the
relaxation curves and cluster formation. It is proved that the distribution of switching time for repeated Monte Carlo
simulations can be approximated with a Gaussian function, the fluctuations being related to the size of the lattice. In
addition, the structure of the system induces differences between the average curve of several independent subsystems and
the one of an equivalent, larger system. |
