Abstract: The functional properties of porous PZT ceramics with elongated porosity were investigated in the range of frequencies of 20Hz-1GHz. The ceramics were prepared by solid state method with different elongated porosity amounts: 0, 10, 20, and 40 vol% porosity. To investigate the non-isotropic properties, the ceramics were cut parallel and perpendicular to the elongated pore axis. The samples were electroded in order to measure ε11 and ε33, respectively, after poling. The complex impedance characterisation performed in plan-parallel geometry shows for all the ceramics additional contributions to the polarization as due to the piezoelectric resonances and a shift of the resonant frequency with the porosity amount. The comparison of samples with the same porosity poled parallel and perpendicular to the pore axis shows a resonant frequency shift, allowing to determine the role of pore anisotropy on the piezoelectric peaks. |
