| Abstract: The conversion of electric power into visible radiation using a direct current (D.C) glow discharge is important in different areas of application: illumination sources, spectral sources, environmental clean-up, displays, etc. In this work it was experimentally proved that the behaviour of the discharge light emission is different in respect with the geometrical configuration of the discharge column and depends by external control parameters as neutral gas pressure and discharge current. The aim of this study is to find experimental condition to obtain a higher conversion efficiency of the electric energy into visible radiation. |
