Abstract: Magnetic nanowires have attracted much attention both because of their importance in fundamental and applications in nanodevices. We present a dc electrodeposition process to produce Co/Pt multilayered nanowire arrays in anodic aluminum oxide templates. The templates with pore diameters ranging from 30 to 4000 nm were grown by anodization of aluminum plates. After anodization, Co/Pt multilayers (with 10 to 200 nm thicknesses of individual layers) were cathodically deposited into the pores of templates. Torsion magnetometry and atomic force microscopy were employed to investigate the magnetic properties and morphology of the nanowires. Nanowires show uniaxial magnetic anisotropy and anisotropic magnetoresistance behaviour. |
