| Abstract: In this paper, which would be a critical research about thought experiments in physics, are exposed features, characteristics and operation of such experiments. Theoretical and methodological perspective is discussed here, starting from epistemological considerations of Mach, Kuhn or Popper, along with concrete examples from Galilei, Einstein or quantum mechanics, will help us to understand the logic of such mental construction, sources of knowledge and if they can be viewed as a special class of argument in science, in which imagination plays an essential role. |
