Abstract: Leaving in harmony with nature - this is the message that needs to be transmitted from generation to generation. It isn’t that hard to recycle, it isn’t hard to economize, it isn’t hard to arrange a green space, all you need to do is to get involved.
Luckily, there are organizations that not only speak about environmental protection. These organizations are supporting the ones that want to get involved with this. One of them is The Foundation for Partnership Miercurea Ciuc - Romania. This foundation supports projects that vise the beautifying of localities where we leave in by lending assistance for the projects that suggest the rehabilitation or creation of green spaces, developed by ONG in partnership with educational institutions. The National Collage “Mihai Eminescu” Botosani has benefited of this kind of lend assistance in the school year 2008 – 2009, and this year we handed in an application for another project.
From the objectives of this project we enumerate:
- The improvement of the quality of the environment in the school and around by involving the students;
- The stimulation of team work and assembling of a collaboration between the member of school community;
- The improvement of the activity endorsing environmental protection, so that the whole community realizes the environmental issues, and form the competence to protect it.
After the application of this project we accomplished the improvement of the environment of a vacant land from the school yard about 1500 quadratic meters. We managed to arrange an interior court by planting decorative trees and other native plants. We also managed the rehabilitation of natural materials or protective environment of space and use space selective target of collecting waste.
The 1200 students are now enjoying the space. Many of them have spent their summer holiday helping arranging that space. |
