Abstract: Evaluation of surface modifications after plasma treatments is studied in the relation with hemocompatibility. The surface chemistry, energy and topography govern the biological response of a biocompatible material. Poly (amide 6) (PA-6) biocompatibility was studied before and after dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) exposure for 10s. It has been measured hemocompatibility parameters such as coagulation time, thrombus formation and plasma recalcification time. Surface modifications have been proved by contact angle measurements, AFM analysis and ellipsometry. |
