| Abstract: With the purpose of obtaining a set of harmonized standards that address the biological evaluation of materials used in medical applications Technical Committee 194 of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has been developing the documents known collectively as ISO 10993. The fundamental ISO 10993 standards are: "Tests for Genotoxicity, Carcinogenicity, and Reproductive Toxicity.", "Selection of Tests for Interactions with Blood.", "Tests for Cytotoxicity-In Vitro Methods.", "Tests for Local Effects after Implantation.", "Tests for Irritation and Sensitization.", "Tests for Systemic Toxicity." |
