| Abstract: The aim of the present paper is to model the modern knowledge of structural properties of the biological membranes, their changes and the implications in pathology, from a didactical point of view to students who are studying biophysics and medical physics. The structural changes in the membrane matrix are of huge importance, they are affecting the fluidity and the other physical properties of the membranes. The particularities of chain melting properties are presented in detail. The deep understanding of these phenomena is very important for the pathology of biomembranes and some rare diseases. |
