Abstract: Plastics is a common name for polymers. Plastics are often used in applications that involve stresses.Examples include housings, gears, ropes, structures and composites. Before using polymers in loadbearing applications, the changing of physical properties under stress have to be investigated. The mechanical tests are essential for application of plastics, due to thier help in finding the relation between structure and properties, as well as composition and properties. For polymer characterization, there are numerous tests: tensile, compressive and shear; stress-strain curves; stiffness, strength, and toughness. In our work, the sorption capacity of the PU with lactate segment and of the precursor PU was investigated as a function of films and membranes preparation conditions. |
